“Where the mountains guard a world untouched by time.”
Gurez is one of Kashmir’s most untouched and least explored valleys, located in the far north near the Kishanganga River.
At an altitude of around 2,400 meters, the valley is surrounded by high mountain ranges, dense forests, and traditional wooden homes that reflect centuries-old Kashmiri heritage.
The star of Gurez is the Habba Khatoon Peak, named after the famed Kashmiri poetess. Its pyramid-shaped mountain stands tall as the symbol of the valley.
Gurez also offers close glimpses of rural Himalayan life — shepherd trails, stone pathways, and welcoming local communities.
